Bill Greaves’ new artwork utilizes symbols, icons, and myths that are part of all
our collective past and memories – such as spirals, hand prints, and other sacred
patterns – and combines them with his powerful sense of color and design, to
create images that resonate with people of all ages and cultures.
His work illustrates that we all share the same fundamental history and
cultural beginnings. Whether we are from the Americas, Europe, Africa, or
anywhere else on the planet earth, Greaves’ work shows us images that we can
all ‘recognize’, and tries to help make us all realize that we need to look for the
things that bring us together as one big Family of Man – and not continue to
pursue the things that divide us, and keep us apart.
Greaves was born in England, and traveled extensively in Europe, North
Africa, the Middle East, and North America, before moving to Maui, Hawaii in

2000. It was during these travels that he started to put together the ‘links’ that
would lead him on his current creative path. He saw that before there were
borders, language barriers, color differences, and religious conflicts there was
a common root that united everyone on the planet. It is this ‘commonality’ that
Greaves seeks to address in his art.
He moved to Cave Creek, Arizona earlier this year, with his family, and is
devoting himself to his artwork and his new graphic design company, Concept
West. Greaves’ wife, Amy, is a fiber artist.
